Lydia Cooper

1st GRADE TEACHER

I am beyond thrilled to teach 1st grade this year at Ivy Hall Academy!  I am incredibly passionate about education and creating positive environments where each child can discover their divine potential. I have two years teaching experience including working in an elementary school with special needs children, a middle school, and teaching English to native Spanish speakers. Although I was born in Utah, I was raised in North Carolina. I am fluent in Spanish after serving a mission in Santa Rosa, California. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Tarheels!) with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. This year, I am moving all the way across the country to begin a new chapter. I cannot wait to meet my students and their parents. I know this will be a memorable year and I already love my students!

GET TO KNOW YOUR NEW TEACHER

This is the hardest question for me because I LOVE colors! The easy answer is any color but orange.

I love art (photography, painting, ceramics), sports, cooking and baking, reading, and anything outdoors.

Macaroni and cheese

Salt Lake City, Utah

I love traveling and I would say one of my favorite places was the Isle of Skye in the highlands of Scotland!
