Chandra Packham became Ivy Hall’s Principal in 2020, after serving as Vice Principal and teacher for 5 years. She has spent her entire 25 year career in education.
Chandra began her career as a teacher and Director of the private school, Challenger School, in Sandy, Utah, and also taught for them in San Jose, California. She taught at The Waterford School, a private school in Sandy, Utah and was an Assistant Principal and teacher for an International school in Bangkok, Thailand. Chandra was recruited in 2015 by Mrs. Simpson from Mesa, Arizona where she was a 4th and 5th grade teacher for Pathfinder Academy.
Chandra holds a certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University, New York, and BS in Child Development and Child Psychology from Brigham Young University, Utah.
Her passion is empowering students with a love of learning and providing a safe, comfortable and uplifting environment for everyone at Ivy Hall. Every day is an opportunity to provide the structure for every child to reach daily success and accomplishment, to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Born in Arizona and raised in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Chandra attended private schools, elementary through high school, attended Leysin American School of Switzerland, and graduated with honors from Sandia Preparatory School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
In her free time she enjoys early morning workouts and tennis with her husband Mel, who was in education for 20 years and is now a Corporate Trainer for a specialized software company. She loves photography and spending time with her 4 children – Jacob, 27, Elisabeth, 25, David, 21 and Bryan, 19. This year she ‘acquired’ 4 bonus children Josh, 32, Justin, 30, Kyle, 25 and Aubrey 19.
