Chandra Packham became Ivy Hall’s Principal in 2020, after serving as Vice Principal and teacher since 2015. She has spent 20 years in national and international schools.
Chandra began her career as a teacher and Director of the private school, Challenger School, in Sandy, Utah, and also taught 2nd grade for Challenger in San Jose, California. She continued her private school career teaching 2nd grade at The Waterford School, in Sandy, Utah. Teaching in the pedagogy of Reggio Emilia, she was an Assistant Principal and teacher for an international school in Bangkok, Thailand. Chandra was recruited in 2015 by Mrs. Simpson from Mesa, Arizona where she had taught an elementary K-2 gifted and talented program for 3 years and as an AZ certified teacher trained in Spalding, spent 5 years teaching 4th and 5th grade for Pathfinder Academy.
Chandra holds a certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University, New York, and BS in Child Development and Child Psychology from BYU, Utah. She is trained in the Leader In Me and Project Based Learning programs.
Born in Chandler, Arizona and raised in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Chandra had a private school education, elementary through high school, attended Leysin American School of Switzerland, and graduated with honors from Sandia Preparatory School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
In her free time, she enjoys travel, early morning workouts and tennis with her husband Mel Coffin, who each have 3 sons and 1 beautiful daughter. You will often see her around the school with her pet snake Blaze, enjoying the students whose safety, academic and personal success, are her daily mission.
