Mrs. Diana West – Music

Music, Mrs. Diana West
I am thrilled to have an opportunity to pass my love and passion for music on to the students at Ivy Hall Academy. I hope to be able to help your children “find their voice!”

As a child I was a member of the International Children’s CHoir and was selected to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York City. In high school, I enjoyed participating in the school musicals. At Dixie College I was presented the “Entertainer of the Year” award.

At Ivy Hall this year we will learn music theory, rhythm patterns. solfége, ear training and part-singing. I hope to instill in them a love for music and the power it can elicit. I will encourage them to learn to play instruments (including body percussion) to give them opportunities to use more than their singing voice to identify with music.

I truly believe that musical education is so important in our schools. An education helps students become well-rounded, confident, passionate, drive human beings.
